Employer Toolkit on Benefits Literacy and Consumerism

This employer toolkit is being developed by MBGH and will address the issues identified during the employee focus group research in the last several years. This MBGH Value-Based Benefit Design Research Series examined the triggers and barriers to employee engagement in worksite activities and physician views of employer-sponsored health programs and employers’ readiness to adopt value-based benefit designs.

Employers can use this toolkit to increase the effectiveness of their communication efforts to improve the use of health benefits and engagement in worksite programs. The toolkit will provide guidance and samples on how to best communicate to employees  on such topics as navigation of the health care system, benefits literacy, medication compliance and proper use of preventive services.
