MBGH invites employers to register for a series of 3 free workshops held by clinical pharmacists experienced in data analytics from Pfizer medical affairs. These workshops will show employers how to identify first line treatment patterns for common pain conditions and discuss intervention options to help combat the opioid epidemic in their populations.

If you are interested in attending all 3 workshops please contact Denise Giambalvo at 312-372-9090 x106

Workshop #1 will be held February 4th at 9 to 10 AM CT and will be a virtual meeting. Employers will have the chance to review national data for first line utilization of opioids in common painful conditions and review methodology and benchmarks.

Workshop #2 will be held April 1st at 9 to 10AM CT and will also be virtual. During this time, employers will create selection windows to help determine new diagnosis and first line opioid use. They will also have the option to request Pfizer MOS support following the workshop to create queries if needed.

Workshop #3 will be held May 19th from 9 to 11:30AM CT. Together, employers will review the data in conjunction with benefit design, discover benefit design elements that impact utilization and identify opportunities to encourage appropriate non-opioid first line therapies.

Employers will learn how to:

  • Identify the top 5 - 10 most common painful conditions in their covered population
  • Identify the percent of patients receiving first line opioid therapy for the top 5 conditions and compare their data to national benchmarks
  • Review pharmacy and medical benefits to identify opportunities to encourage appropriate non-opioid first line therapies
