In a recent employer survey conducted by the National Safety Council (NSC), 81% of respondents said they lacked a comprehensive drug-free workplace policy. Yet more than 70% said they have been affected by misuse of legally prescribed medications, including opioids.33
Since taking prescription drugs is not illegal, creating and implementing related policies can be challenging. This section provides information and support for employers working on putting strong internal policies in place.
