Event Description

Employers can play a pivotal role in supporting employees and their family members with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD); thereby, contributing to a healthier workforce and quality of life while mitigating health care costs. CKD may be a looming health care issue that goes unnoticed but considering 40% of those with type 2 diabetes will develop CKD, this population should be on the radar of employers. When compared to those with diabetes alone, adding CKD results in an average increase to health care costs of over 50%. Early detection, prevention and awareness of CKD are vital.

Attend this webinar to gain a better understanding of how:

  • 40% of those with T2D will develop CKD and over 90% of these individuals are unaware they have the condition
  • The patient journey is underscored by gaps in care, including underdiagnosis and treatment that is not aligned with standard-of-care guidelines
  • This chronic condition can progress undetected and lead to gradual loss of kidney function as well as serious kidney damage and other health conditions such as cardiovascular disease and fibrosis
  • Employers can put a simple, low-cost strategy in place to improve identification and treatment of CKD, resulting in significant health plan savings and lives saved!
