Building a Healthier Chicago

MBGH has partnered with the Building a Healthier Chicago Healthy Worksite Initiative to support Chicagoland employers in improving the health and productivity of their employees and families.

This employer-focused initiative has the following objectives:

  • Educate employers to promote physical activity, healthy eating and the detection, prevention and control of high blood pressure
  • Encourage Chicagoland employers to integrate healthy living and wellness into their health benefits and health improvement efforts
  • Identify and share current best practices and implementation strategies in wellness and offer access to high quality information, resources and tools
  • Recognize and support the efforts of employer participants

In March 2012, Building a Healthier Chicago officially launched the Worksite Wellness Assessment Tool. This assessment evaluates an employer's current wellness program offerings, provides a gap analysis to help them better target how time and resources are allocated, and offers recommendations, tools, and resources to support their health improvement efforts.

In September 2012, MBGH co-hosted the Employer Wellness Forum attended by more than 80 employers. Several MBGH members were honored for their best-in-class worksite wellness efforts. Click here to view the winners and access presentations.
