On September 12, 2012, in collaboration with Building a Healthier Chicago’s Healthy Worksite Initiative, the Midwest Business Group on Health hosted the “Employer Wellness Forum: Best Practices and Key Trends in Worksite Wellness”. It was attended by more than 80 employers from the Chicagoland area. This employer-only event focused on the best-in-class efforts of leading employers who completed the Worksite Wellness Assessment. The event received media attention in 38 states.
Employer case studies and panel discussions covered the following wellness topics: culture of health, benefit plan design, incentives, communications, consumerism and data/program measurement. These topics coincide with those included in the Assessment and Worksite Wellness Guide.
At this program, employers were able to:
- Explore the keys to creating and sustaining a successful culture of health
- Identify best practices in benefit plan design, use of incentives and wellness programs that work
- Understand the importance of a comprehensive benefit communications strategy
- Learn how to get employees and families engaged in wellness and how to help them become better health care consumers
- Determine what wellness initiatives you should measure and how to do it
- Participate in interactive roundtables for small, medium and large employers
- Visit with Chicagoland wellness vendors in the exhibit hall
