Event Description

In today's workforce, combating obesity is paramount for fostering employee health and well-being. The changing landscape of treating obesity as a disease demands strategic attention from employers. Obesity is a chronic condition that needs to be managed like other conditions such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease. But it’s complicated. Even though obesity is intertwined with multiple chronic conditions, stigma and bias often get in the way of providing an evidence-based approach to obesity management.

Employers are increasingly being asked to consider pharmacological interventions along with traditional behavioral health programs to manage obesity in their employee population. The question for many employers is, “Can this be done in cost-effective manner?” Join us to explore fresh perspectives on implementing a holistic, inclusive and cost-effective obesity management strategy within your organization.

At this forum, you will:

  • Leverage insights from employer best practices to craft effective obesity strategies.
  • Review the potential impact and implications of covering GLP-1 weight loss medications.
  • Examine how to advocate for payer policies that encompass appropriate utilization management and coverage for impactful obesity solutions.
  • Understand methods to mitigate the effects of weight stigma experienced by individuals with obesity.

This program is available both in-person and virtually.
